The Original Style of Portraiture

While most of today’s portrait photographers rely heavily on props and “cuteness” to sell their product, I am out to capture the true beauty of the individual I am shooting. There are little props, little antiques, and little use of the “old washed out colour” that everyone else seems to use. I let my subjects be myself, and capture how they act. The results are outstanding. That isn’t to say I don’t support props etc because obviously, if my client wants them, I will use them, however my portraits are about you…not the pastel coloured wool hat your wearing.

Who is Fatguyphotography?

I created Fatguyphotography way back in 2001, when I fell in love with photography. With my name being Mike, I immediately understood the difficulty people would have trying to remember the name. Being a “big boned” fella, I decided to call the business Fatguyphotography. It always made my clients chuckle and immediately an impression – a bond was made. I am not worried about “being called names”. I need you to love my work, and to appreciate my vision. And remember the name.
